Daniel Alvarez, M.D., Vice President of Clinical Development

Daniel Alvarez is a Physician and Senior Pharmaceutical Executive with extensive experience in immunology and inflammation, particularly in the development of biological medicines. Daniel trained as a Physician (MD) in Peru and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He served as Assistant Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia where he was Acting Chief of the HIV/AIDS division and Director of Antiviral Research.​

Daniel joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2005 and worked at Schering Plough, Wyeth and Pfizer, with increasing responsibilities in drug development in the areas of HIV, Hepatitis C, Inflammation and Immunology. He initially oversaw clinical teams, and later development teams, that worked in Phase 1 to 4 trials that led to successful registrations in the US, EU, Japan, Canada, Australia and other markets. He is currently Vice President of Clinical Development at Santa Ana Bio.​
